Thank you for visiting our website and welcome.
Our Club was established in May 1936 by a few local businessmen (See Chronicles). The outdoor season runs from mid April until late September, during which time there are plenty of events to suit bowlers of all abilities, from novice to superstar. (We don't currently have any of the latter!)
We play matches against many other Clubs, both home and away, in friendlies and in organised county competitions and leagues. The majority are mixed, although the ladies do have quite a few “girls only” matches. Club competitions for singles, pairs and triples formats start in May and climax on Finals Weekend in early September. Entry to County and National Competitions is open to any Club member wishing to participate.
On Tuesday afternoons throughout the season, all members are welcome to play in an organised “roll up” affectionately called the “Tuesday Triples”. Good fun and a great way to meet other members and to improve your game. We are fortunate to play on one of the best greens in the county.
Our Clubhouse and well stocked bar are open on most weekday evenings during the season, and we have our own large car park. In the closed season months, October to early April, regular Bingo evenings are held plus an occasional quiz and a trip to the theatre. Our bar opens on Tuesday afternoons and Friday evenings throughout the year.
Our introductory subscription for new players is just £45 for the first year (£23 for Juniors). We also have a very generous trial membership/coaching scheme. If you are interested in making new friendships and aquaintances and playing one of the friendliest sports around then please contact us. We will be delighted to set you on your way.
