The 2022 season will be remembered for the unusually high temperatures recorded across the country in July.
Our Club friendlies were, on the whole, well supported. Although 5 fixtures were not played, it was our opponents who were unable to field a team on four occasions. The exceptional heat was definitely a factor.
However, 19 friendlies were played. We Won 10, Drew 1 and Lost 8.
Our Home games resulted in 8 wins out of 12.
Total Shots For 1489, Against 1337.
Our Ladies had 4 of their fixtures cancelled and 2 were rained off before completion. The 5 completed games resulted in 3 wins and 2 defeats. Shots For 203, Against 147.
We finished 4th of 6 in Division 2 of the Bucks Cup gaining 29 points, The Division was dominated by Waddesdon and Hazells. Although Hazells won all 5 of their fixtures, it was Waddesdon who topped the league with 60 points to 58 for Hazells. Waddesdon went on to beat Hazells 66 - 59 in the semi final. The Final saw them up against the mighty Gerrards Cross, who have contested 9 of the last 13 Finals. It was Waddesdon who came out on top this year by 63 shots to 57. Our congratulations go out to them.
Our 2 teams in The Ray Keen League, Division 2, finished 1st and 2nd. Risborough A gain promotion to the top division next season. Well done to both squads.
As reported earlier, we won 2 and lost 4 of our Mid Bucks League fixtures, finishing mid table. We will be keen to improve on that in 2023.
Our Club Captain, Mike Peck and Vice Captain Tony Lambert along with Ladies Captain Barbara Perry would all like to thank everyone who put their names down on the selection sheets. Dennis Robertson is also most grateful for the support given to the Bucks Cup and MBL fixtures.
A good season which has passed all too quickly. Lets look forward to doing even better, both on and off the green, in 2023. Winter Well.
