MAY 18th: Our clubs entrants into National Competitions played their first matches in May. On the 8th, Tony Liggins and Del Behenna travelled to Broadway (no, NOT New York, Chesham) to take on Pete Coyne and Paul Rodgers in the Senior Pairs. Although the first 2 ends went the way of the home pair, Tony and Del steadily built up a commanding lead and were 17 shots to 6 ahead when the match was conceded after 16 ends.Their next match will be at Newport Pagnell on Tuesday 17th June at 12 noon.

In the Senior Singles, on the 18th,  Del once again had to visit Broadway and again his opponent was Paul Rodgers. In a very close game the score was 15 each after 20 ends. Paul then went 19 - 15 up, 4 shots being the most that had seperated the two since flagfall, but Del dug deep and finished 2 - 3 - 1 to secure a 21 -19 win after 25 enthralling ends. Thanks to marker, Roger Crick. Del's next match will be against Mike Skerry at Chalfont St Giles, Monday 9th June, 2 pm.

Tony Liggins faced a strong opponent in his Senior Singles match away at Gerrards Cross. Sadly, it was the home player, John Godman, a  who dominated the match and ran out the winner, 21 shots to 5.

In the Foundation Pairs, Del and Roger Lawson must travel to Bletchley St Martins, Friday 6th June, 6 pm.

In the Champion of Champions, Del will be away at Gerrards Cross v Richard Reid, Saturday 31st May, 10 am.
