September 20th : Presidents Cup Day saw our retiring President Tony Lambert, 35 years a devoted member, oversee a game between Lady Captain Angela Adlams team and Club Captain Tony Liggins team for a trophy presented by our sponsor, Majesticare. The weather could not have been any better and the games on all six rinks were keenly contested and greatly enjoyed. The final scores were really only important for bragging rights, and those went to Angela's team along with the Presidents Cup. The final tally was 108 shots to 88.
It was wonderful to have such a well supported Club Day as the season draws to an end. It's also worth recording that 23 of the 36 who played were members who have only joined the Club since our recruitment drive got underway in April 2023. There was a very healthy turnout of spectators too and the buffet and raffle which followed the game was very well received. A massive thanks to all who organised and helped to deliver a day which bodes well for the Club's future.
